Accounting Manager

Remote-First · Massachusetts · 15–20 Hours/Week

(Targeting Full-Time July 1, 2026)

Is This Role for You?

  • You enjoy reviewing the work of others and find satisfaction in catching the "small things" before they reach the client.

  • You are process oriented; when you see a messy workflow, your first instinct is to document a better way in a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

  • You are a true working manager; you are comfortable executing full-cycle accounting tasks as well as reviewing them.

  • You are comfortable with both virtual and in-person engagement, leading meetings for your assigned clients and team with confidence and kindness.

We are looking for our first-ever Accounting Manager. This role is designed as a phased-capacity hire: you will start part-time, 15–20 hours per week, with a clear and structured path to a full-time, 32-hour-week position as we scale our client portfolio.

If you are a detail-driven accountant with a passion for problem-solving and a proactive communication style, we would appreciate for you to join our team.

While we are a remote-first company, this position is open only to candidates who live and are legally authorized to work in Massachusetts. Our primary approved work location is the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What You Bring

  • Experience: At least five years of evolving general ledger experience with a mastery of month-end and year-end processes.

  • Tech Fluency: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. Experience with robust general ledger systems (e.g., Sage Intacct), reporting platforms (e.g., Fathom HQ), and bill pay/expense platforms (e.g., Ramp) is highly preferred.

  • Growth Mindset: A strong sense of curiosity, self-awareness, and a desire to thrive in a continuous learning environment.

  • Proactive Problem-Solving: A natural inclination to spot potential challenges before they arise and the resourcefulness to propose and implement effective solutions.

  • Work Management: The discipline and organizational skills required to manage work, meet deadlines, and thrive in a remote-first environment.
